The 2025 speaker series began Sunday, March 9th, at 4:00 pm.
Our last speaker event was held Sunday, August 10th. We were honored to have Clay Kilgore from the Washington County Historical Society talk to the group about our rich history.
Up next on September 14th we will host Peggy Hays of Washington. Peggy’s father was the founder of World Pony League Baseball which has its World Series annually in Washington in August.
Peggy is an avid bell collector and performer.
The program title will be Bells in our lives from the frontier to the Present.
It will focus on the history of Washington and Fayette Counties and show how the bells have been an integral part of our lives.
Peggy is a retired CPA who was in private practice and also taught at Waynesburg and Gettysburg Colleges.
Peggy graduated from Muskingum College (BA) and Northwestern University. (MA)
Peggy loves to travel and has been actively involved in her Scottish heritage through the Clan Hay Society.
Call or message for reservations for this event. Dinner is served at 4 pm and we will be having the presentation at the 1846 restored farmhouse across the street.

In addition to the monthly speaker series, we will have a Haunted History Walk through town in place of the speaker series on October 12th 4-7pm and we will be scheduling our second Holiday House tour in mid-December.
