Welcome to Marsha Cassel’s Kitchen on Main

Marsha Cassel’s KITCHEN ON MAIN — located at 64 East Main Street, West Middletown, PA — has been renovated to be a meeting place, a restaurant, a place to be quiet and read or play a game with a stranger. While you are here, I hope you will pick up a book on natural remedies, culinary and healing herbs, peruse a long-forgotten cookbook or book from your childhood, engage in conversation, and, most importantly, anticipate the meal that is being prepared especially for YOU.

I have never owned a restaurant until now, but I know a thing or a thousand about hospitality, food, and cooking. I have been cooking for loved ones for decades. My business “Marsha Will Cook for You” has centered on providing event catering and personal cheffing services to a wide variety of clients for many years. I like to think about the food I eat as the fuel to keep my body healthy and strong. I put real food into my body and will be preparing real food for you too that will be delicious and nutrient-dense.

Come Shop, Play, Stay, Eat & Explore in Historic West Middletown

ENJOY HISTORIC WEST MIDDLETOWN’S YEAR-LONG BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION IN 2023

The Venue

You being here is truly an experiment on many levels. When you come to my restaurant to dine, you will be sitting in a 200-year-old house that has been transformed into a restaurant. You are smack dab in the middle of a once-bustling historic town that is resurrecting to a new kind of glory. Poor Johnny’s up the street was the inspiration for me to come here, and I hope this place also inspires others to join us in this quaint little town.

The Lake

We’re gifted with Cross Creek Lake right in our own backyard! This massive 285-acre lake is part of Cross Creek Washington County Park.  We will serve made-to-order picnic lunches to take down to the lake – grab-n-go sandwiches, snacks, hummus, and cold drinks in the cooler. The Cross Creek County Park entrance and lake parking are approximately .5 miles from the restaurant. Bring your kayaks and paddle boards!

The General Store

We have a wide variety of handmade items for sale created by myself, and other artists and craftspeople.  This includes hemp products derived from my all-natural hemp farm, Washington County Natural Hemp Farm, Bedillion Honey products, and Mushroom Mountain Mushroom extracts.

BYOB and OUTDOOR DECK PET FRIENDLY Establishment!

You are welcome to bring any beer or wine you like.

We have all the necessary glassware that you’ll need. We’ll be glad to uncork your beer and/or wine and serve it to you. There is simply a $1 per person corkage fee.

We have a PET FRIENDLY deck where lots of pups including Athena and Bear are frequent customers at the water bowl.  The umbrellas provide shade so you and your pets will be comfortable.
