My love language is service. It mostly presents as my love for providing hospitality and preparing special meals for people and making them feel special and welcome. I get a thrill from doing this.
I think it is important to get involved in organizations and helping make everything I get involved with better and more successful. When you give of your time and experience, you can really help the younger generations, the older generations and everyone in between.
Back in Pittsburgh in my former lives, at one point when I co-owned a hardware store with my ex-husband, I did presentations for kids on Earth Day and we did activities together like planting beans. I was involved with a non-profit organization in West Middletown, PA where I had a restaurant. We were TRYING to revitalize an historic town. We held speaker events, a fall festival where we made homemade apple butter and invited local historic groups and vendors to set up shop and spread their knowledge and wares to the folks who came by and more.
I rang the bell for the Salvation Army and taught youth cooking lessons. That was a lot of fun. I still serve on the Board of my synagogue back in Washington PA and now, I’m here in Bisbee getting into all kinds of things.
In addition to the all volunteer run radio station in town, KBRP, I have joined some organizations.
Fellow DJ, Maggie Hastings got together with a group of other women in town and formed WAT, Women All Together. I joined them in May 2026 and helped with the Pride Parade in June and look forward to helping grow this organization

I am starting to cook some dinners for the American Legion here in Bisbee! The first event I am doing here will be Saturday, September 12th.

Community Synergy has served our high desert region for over a decade, through programs like Ecoasis Sustainable Living Center, Bisbee Community Gardens, and the Bisbee Health Expo. The work focuses on four distinct areas that together, support a thriving, sustainable community: Food & Growing, Natural Building, Land & Water Conservation and Music, Arts & Spirit.
On October 11th, Community Synergy is hosting the “Together We Thrive” Eco Festival at Oldfield Oasis from 2-6pm to celebrate the launch of new programs and mobilize Cochise County around working together towards a more sustainable future. There will be live music and entertainment, food from local vendors, a beer garden, a children’s fun area, natural building demonstrations, interactive art, and eco-focused booths by members of our board and partners. The first Cochise County community members to sign up for our new Front Yard Garden Program will receive free plant starts, a soil test kit, agro-fabric, compost, and an irrigation class.
